As part of the Bahamas Marine Mammal Research Organisation’s (BMMRO) mandate to manage and maintain the Bahamas Marine Mammal Stranding Network, BMMRO held a very successful one day workshop for the Department of Marine Resource’s Officers. The workshop trained Officers to respond to a marine mammal stranding.

The Department of Agriculture and the Ministry of the Environment as well as other non-profit organisations from Nassau were also in attendance.

After several informative presentations describing the Stranding Network, marine mammals in the Bahamas and what to do when you find a live or dead animal, the workshop moved outside for some practical sessions.

All in attendance have now joined the Bahamas Marine Mammal Stranding Network.
