Modern Miracle, the Atlantic spotted dolphin that was rescued, rehabilitated, and released by the Atlantis, Paradise Island team, in conjunction with Bahamas Marine Mammal Research Organisation, has been spotted and is thriving! Kelly Mellilo Sweeting, from Dolphin Communications Project, spotted Modern Miracle on January 7 back off the coast of Bimini, where he was rescued and released. Kelly identified Modern Miracle, affectionately known as M&M, by spotting his satellite tag. He was swimming within a pod of about 20 Atlantic spotted dolphins. M&M looked very healthy and he has no sign of any injuries.
M&M is an excellent example of the positive results of a best-of-class marine mammal rescue and rehabilitation program.
